Residents of Harris County MUD 383,

This afternoon the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) Issued notice that any Utility District that has the potential to take surface water from a physical connection that is supplied by the City of Houston must now issue a Boil Water Notice. This is in response to the numerous issues the City of Houston has had with their surface water treatment facilities during this unprecedented freeze. Harris County MUD 383 has such a connection.

In response to this notice and as a precautionary measure, Harris County MUD No. 383 is now issuing a Boil Water notice prior to consumption to the residents.

To ensure destruction of all harmful bacteria and other microbes, water for drinking, cooking, and making ice should be boiled and cooled prior to use. The water should be brought to a vigorous, rolling boil and then boiled for two minutes. In lieu of boiling, you may purchase bottled water or obtain water from some other suitable source.

When it is no longer necessary to boil the water, the water system officials will notify you that the water is safe for consumption. Instructions to discontinue boiling will be issued in like manner.

If you have questions concerning this matter, you may contact the District Operator at: 281-367-5511

The MUD District and District Operator appreciate your patience during this difficult situation.
