HCMUD 383: How to Read Your Bill

As Residents of Harris County Municipal Utility District 383 (HCMUD 383), the Board wants to better serve you by helping you understand and read your monthly water bill.

HCMUD 383 contracts with Municipal Operations & Consulting (Operator) to manage their facilities and handle the billing process for services. In partnership with MOC, it is the District’s goal to make sure reading your bill and paying for your water service is as simple as possible.

There are twenty information components displayed on your monthly water bill:

  1. Your Residence's smart water meter number
  2. Your service address
  3. Prior reading at end of last billing cycle
  4. Current reading as of date
  5. Number of gallons used in 1,000's
  6. Date your meter was read
  7. Date bill is mailed; about 2 weeks after meter read
  8. Dates of service for this bill
  9. The security code used for initial signing up
  10. Your account number
  11. Twelve (12) month water usage history
  12. Previous month's payment info
  13. Cost of water used, includes trash & recycling
  14. Cost of sewer service
  15. North Harris County Regional Water Authority, pass through mandate by State of Texas of Texas billed at $4.05 per 1,000 gallons ($4.05 x #5). See https://www.nhcrwa.com for information
